The First Congregational Church

United Church of Christ

Chicopee, Massachusetts

Our Mission Statement is:

TO WEAR AND SHARE THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST!

Our Vision Statement is:

SERVICE

Knowing that we are called to be Christ’s disciples through lives of service, we shall be the hands and voice of God, share the messages of Christ both within the church and within our community, implement inreach and outreach projects that address the financial and spiritual needs of the church and the needs of the community, model the joy of knowing Christ, and respond to creation’s cry for justice and peace.

MINISTRY

Knowing that everyone has at least one ministerial gift from God, empower all parishioners to pursue their gifts of ministry, based on their God-given talents, either individually or in small group ministries.

CHILDREN

Knowing that our children are the future visionaries of the church, do all that we can to successfully teach them the values and stories of our faith, and prepare them to become mature members of the church who are ready to take on the demands that will one day face them.

HOSPITALITY

Knowing Christ’s call for hospitality, provide a welcoming and safe environment for believers and seekers by providing tradition, ease of access, fellowship, unconditional love, nurture, teaching, healing, guidance, and a spiritual home in which God’s Word is made culturally relevant in their lives and in which they can grow as faithful and productive Christians.

EVANGELISM

Knowing Jesus’ Great Commission to spread the gospel throughout the world, seek opportunities to share our faith with those who are not aware of Christ’s love for them by opening the doors of our building and the doors of our faith.  Witness on behalf of the church to find and receive new members of all ages, cultures, and ethnicities.

LOVE

Knowing the two Great Commandments of Jesus, to love God and to love our neighbor, personify that love by our faith and trust in God and by offering our love to all people, without judgment, no matter what their state in life might be.
